Intuit named founding sponsor of StartUp Britain

Tuesday July 5, 2011 - Intuit is proud to be named a founding sponsor of StartUp Britain www.startupbritain.org, the national campaigning body by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs.

As a founding sponsor Intuit has pledged its support and commitment to backing British startups in order to inspire, accelerate and support entrepreneurship in the UK.

StartUp Britain launched on March 28 with the support of HM Government. It aims to help budding entrepreneurs around the country through access to a combination of practical support, offers and assistance.

Pernille Bruun-Jensen, managing director, Intuit UK, says: "StartUp Britain is a natural fit for Intuit. Everything we do is geared to helping entrepreneurs be successful, from easy-to-use accounting software to our own Small Business Britain campaign.”

“Poor financial management is one of the top 5 reasons small businesses fail and so we are looking forward to working with the campaign team to ensure start-ups are set up for success with the support and practical advice to help them get organised and stay on top of their finances. Small businesses need all the help they can get - and we are happy to lend a hand.”

Emma Jones, co-founder of StartUp Britain and founder of Enterprise Nation, says: “We are delighted to welcome Intuit as one of eight founding sponsors for the StartUp Britain campaign. With the support of these new sponsors we will be able to reach so many more young businesses that could benefit from their help, and it is incredibly encouraging to see global firms backing Britain in this way.”

StartUp Britain acts as a champion for the UK’s 270,000 businesses that start up every year. The campaign launched on 28 March 2011 alongside a series of measures from the Department of Business Innovation and Skills to help inspire, support and grow business start ups.
